Keeping our animal companions happy and healthy is what we all strive for, by maintaining proper nutrition, plenty of exercise, and quality time with our families.  Preventative care, such as wellness visits with your veterinarian, are also important for an animal to maintain overall good health.  Many other holistic modalities contribute to our animal's life and complement veterinary care, such as Reiki, Acupressure, Fascial Energetics work, Energy work, and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).

Alyson is devoted to promoting balance, wellness, and harmony for our animal companions with alternative techniques that complement regular veterinary care.  She combines Reiki, energy healing, Massage, Acupressure, and Fascial Energetic work to return our companions to a state of homeostasis.  The benefits of these techniques are improving and maintaining muscle tone, improving digestion, increasing blood circulation, improving lymph circulation, flushing out toxins from the body, reducing stress and anxiety, releasing endorphins for reducing pain, enhancing mental clarity, resolving past injuries, building the immune system, relieving muscle spasms, and balancing emotions.

During the session, the animal's chakras are cleared, the aura is cleansed, the fascia around the muscles is stretched, tension is released, and the body's meridians are assessed and returned to balance.  For the consultation aspect of the session, she will assess the animal's history and medical and home life.  Alyson can also assist with nutritional suggestions, diet changes, vitamins or supplements, exercise requirements, sleeping habits, socialization, and home environment.  She acts as an "Interspecies Life Coach" to help not only the animal, but also the family and guardians in an effort for all to return to harmony.

These modalities are not intended to replace veterinary care, but only to complement it.  Alyson does not diagnose illness, provide medication, nor perform surgery or any veterinary care.

Each session is unique depending on the needs of the animal.  An assessment is conducted and the technique is applied, which can include aromatherapy, color therapy, Flower Essences, and crystal therapy.  Every animal is in charge of its own session, which means that s/he will only take the amount of energy it needs at the time, so a session could vary in time.  Please bring water for the animal after the session, and please plan to not feed anything for 2 hours prior to 2 hours after the session.

Alyson is available for sessions on Sense and Spirit Saturdays as well as by appointment.  30 minutes are allotted for each appointment so she can gather a brief history and then apply a technique.  15-minute sessions are not available.  Her fee is $50 per 30-minute session.

Alyson has had the opportunity and ability to stay connected with animals her whole life.  She grew up in a small New Jersey town where she learned from the animals around her, both in the wild and her own companion dogs.  She has always felt a sense of connection to the natural world that provides her a unique way of communication and helping animals.

She has been studying and utilizing holistic modalities for 15 years, both on herself and her dogs.  She worked as a Veterinary Technician for over 10 years, after which she worked with a holistic and Integrated veterinarian for a year.

In 1991 she earned her Master Dog Groomer certification from the Nash Institute of the Animal Arts, and in 1995 earned her Master Dog Training and Dog Behavior certifications from National K9.  She has also earned certifications in Reiki (Master Teacher), Crystal Healing, and Flower Essences, studied EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Aromatherapy, Animal Communication, Massage and Fascial Energetics, and will be learning Raindrop Therapy in Fall 2010.  She is certified as a Small Animal Acupressure Practitioner (SAAP) and is continuing her studies for Equine.

Alyson resides in New Jersey with her husband, three sons, and 2 Labrador Retrievers.  She volunteers at her local animal shelter, a horse farm for Hippotherapy, and maintains her private practice, "Our Natural Path" where she consults on nutrition, healing modalities, and behavior.

Alyson draws from her deep love and connection with animals to help her clients with the best possible care.  She believes that with a trusting, bonding relationship, proper nutrition, exercise, and good health practices that balance, wellness, and harmony can be achieved and maintained for a greater quality of life.
