This is the first page of pictures from
the first ever Northeastern Deaf Dogs Picnic. It was held at Goffle Brook Park in
Hawthorne, NJ. Everyone in attendance had a great time, especially all the dogs who
slept all night! Of course, it wasn't at ALL about the dogs. It was all about
us meeting our online buddies, and putting faces with the typing-voices! The dogs
were just an excuse to get together!
The weather was perfect for late August 2000 - mid 80's, no humidity, sunny - we
couldn't have asked for a better day. Except for facilities, of course!
Anyway, enjoy your tour of the Picnic!

This little character is Jakob Golden, Melanie's son. He crawled into this crate all
on his own, and then proceeded to go for the water in the bowl. We were all
hysterical!
These two are Marcy's Bandit, on the left, and Woofer on the
right (obviously!) I have no idea whose legs those are in the background.

Let's see if I can get these guys all straight. From left
to right: Ollie and Rufus (Barb Bishop) either JB Golden or Jasper Brill (whichever the
one in the background is, the other one's in the front), and I have no idea whose
hindquarters those are. Come to think of it, those must be Nina's, cause she was the
only other spotted wonder that was there (bigger than Orion, who's not spotted, and
certainly bigger than Zoe)! The brown dogs were all visitors.

This is Jeff Brill and Rebecca Harris talking, and one of the
Brill/Golden dogs. It's hard to tell the dots from behind! This is Jasper
though.

Great shot of JB Golden. He was probably looking at his
family who were eating. He's got this great white face, a lot like my Nina's.
