Beginning Tarot Class Tarot is a mystical and magical practice of divination used for self-awareness, mastery of life and soul lessons, and predicting the future.  Tarot cards have pictures that contain symbolic knowledge that a reader can see, understand, and interpret. Tarot is a wonderful tool to help us understand this amazing journey called life and the wisdom of the cards is inside you.  It is, in many ways, both logical and intuitive, blending the energies of the mind and symbolic messages of spirit which create intuitive flashes of knowingness that can be used as a compass to help guide you or others for insight into the past, present, and future.  Every card contains a picture that stimulates your psychic energy.  The cards, along with your psychic impressions, help to predict patterns of energies coming into your life and your soul's path. You CAN learn how to read the Tarot in just one evening.  Lynn will discuss the symbols on the cards, what to look at on the cards, and guide you to intuitively feel their meanings and messages.  An overview of all suits, court cards, and cards in the Minor Arcana and all Major Arcana cards will be covered.  She will demonstrate a Celtic Cross spread and discuss tools and ethics for Tarot reading. Whether you are a beginning student or a seasoned practitioner, have a desire to read for yourself or others, this class will teach you to truly become an excellent Tarot Reader.  The Rider-Waite deck is used and recommended for this class. This class is offered on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 7-9pm.  Tuition is $40.00. Lynn E. Merritt, MSW, LCSW has professional training in the field of psychotherapy.  She received a Master's Degree in Social Work from The University of Connecticut in 1985.  She is licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Health as a Clinical Social Worker.  In her clinical practice, Lynn specialized in the treatment of Schizophrenia and Major Affective disorders.  Also, she is a specialist in Emergency Psychiatric evaluation and treatment planning.  She now has a private practice and specializes in seeing clients dealing with emotions and weight loss. Lynn is also co-owner of Mystical Horizons and Mystical Horizons II, New Age stores located in Old Mystic and East Lyme, CT.   She is the featured Tarot reader and Astrologer there.  In addition, Lynn provides readings by telephone, both nationally and internationally,  She teaches metaphysical and self-help courses and conducts spiritual retreats to Sedona AZ.
